'It's like they never miss a pass': Swansea's Galbraith resumes clash with Pep's side.

Ethan Galbraith grins broadly as he recalls the nail-biting dying seconds of his team's epic comeback victory against Nottingham Forest in the EFL Cup. The game culminated with Galbraith picking up a supporter's spectacles amid the post-goal scrum.

During the final moments of stoppage time, Galbraith cracked the upright with a speculative shot from outside the box, and Cameron Burgess promptly hammered in the deflection before sprinting toward the home end to revel in the moment, with the crowd swarming the players.

Stunning Reversal

The victory completed an extraordinary recovery given the Welsh side had found themselves down 2-0 midway through the latter period. In the euphoria, there was some collateral damage. Galbraith explained, "There was a supporter shouting out and we were thinking: 'What's he on about here?' Then we noticed the glasses. It was a bit of banter putting them on. We are on the pitch as footballers but we're people, too, so to have a joke with the fans is always good."

Pep Guardiola Test

The victory earned a fourth-round fixture at home against the Premier League champions on Wednesday, a club Galbraith ran close at the equivalent round of the FA Cup with the London side in February. Galbraith had arguably the best view when the underdogs took the lead in stunning style, with a teammate's first-time shot from about way out going in via the bar and the Stefan Ortega. Many argued that it was deemed an own goal.

"You would have hoped they would've awarded it to him for attempting the shot from that distance," stated Galbraith, who started in midfield before shifting to right defensive wing after Orient changed shape. That meant competing with Jack Grealish, with whom he swapped shirts, and the attacker was among the City players who paid tribute to the way his former team played positively.

Opponent's Class

"Fitness-wise they are exceptional but even the basics and basic skills, they can just do it over and over again," the midfielder notes. "It feels like they complete every delivery and they know how to manage and neutralize a game. You can feel you're holding your own and then without warning they will just fizz a pass between defenders without you even spotting it. You have to be alert throughout of the game. It requires a strong mentality and attention just to stay in the game."

Swansea Move

The Welsh side sought to acquire Galbraith in January and secured his signature to sign him in the summer in a £1.5m deal. He made a name as a crowd pleaser across two seasons at his former club and has swiftly achieved similar status in his new home. At Orient he linked up again with Richie Wellens, who earlier gave Galbraith his first extended run in senior football on loan at a League One side from Old Trafford. Then came a spell at League Two the Manchester club, before he moved on from Manchester United.

Development Path

"I was likely a bit naive going into men's football. I think a lot of players would say development squad matches is entirely separate. Sometimes it feels like possession is exchanged without real physicality. You see few physical contests. Once you start playing men's games you have to adjust fast."

National Team Success

His progress reflects that maturation for his team and nation, shining for the Green and White Army, who are fighting to qualify for the World Cup next summer via the qualifying rounds and for whom he has been selected in the last several matches, including home and away games against a football powerhouse. His former international manager, Galbraith's previous international manager, gave him the ultimate compliment, saying he was Northern Ireland's "midfield general" given how he handles the football and his eye for a decisive through ball.

Early Days

This represents a remarkable path for the kid from the neighborhood in his hometown, just outside the capital, who used to see his parent, Stuart, also a engine room operator, play for Ballyclare Comrades.

Red Devils Debut

The player's only game for United came in Kazakhstan in 2019, a Europa League trip to the Kazakh capital, where they played on an plastic turf and the stadium roof was closed owing to the weather of freezing cold. "It was a long trip and it was chilly," he says, chuckling. "The preceding week, myself and quite a few of the young lads trained together, so that helped us acclimatise. Just to accompany the senior squad and get a couple of minutes at the end was incredible."

Moving On

How hard was it to leave United, the club he joined from Linfield aged his mid-teens? "The decision proved quite easy, because I got to the stage where I realized I couldn't establish myself at the senior squad. I'm extremely thankful for the experience gained but it reached a stage where I felt I had to take a different path, drop down the leagues and play men's football. Now I'm slowly progressing again."

Life in Swansea

It is the middle of the day at the club's training ground but Galbraith has a commitment at late afternoon: a road rules assessment, another step towards getting on the road. Prior to relocating to his new neighborhood, the young professional was a regular in Swansea's so-called player transport, a small coach driven by team personnel, the transport team, which transports players to and from training and matches.

"It's myself the Portuguese player, Ronald, an Ivorian player – a former passenger used to be in it but has begun using his own car. It's nice to socialize with the guys but I'm aiming to be the following person out of the minibus and on the road. His teammate is known for his humor; he's frequently playing tricks."

Supporter Connections

During his time at his former club, Galbraith would travel alongside fans on public transport after starting his journey at his base. "I tried|I attempted|My aim
